Helping a Student

Satellite Behaviour Hub

Lighthouse Outreach teach Emotional Literacy. Emotional Literacy is a key skill that helps us manage our emotions. Children take time
to understand emotions and their emotional intelligence needs time to be built.

Satellite Behaviour Hub

Lighthouse Outreach provide a 6 or 12-week Satellite Behaviour Hub programme in your school setting, teaching students emotional literacy skills.

Emotional Literacy is the ability to express our emotions and feelings using speech and other forms of communication. It’s an important skill that children must develop from a young age to help establish a stable relationship with their own emotions. A child who can express their emotions and feelings is less like likely to suffer from emotional and mental ill health in adolescence.

The 6 or 12-week Satellite Hub programme is an intensive initiative designed for students identified by their regular school as being at risk of permanent exclusion or those who require a break from the classroom to tackle the learning obstacles they face. This method aims to reconnect, reintegrate, and equip them with a set of skills to utilise in the classroom.

The curriculum focuses on overcoming obstacles to learning and enhancing social abilities, with an increased emphasis on character development and helping students become more resilient.

Most of the curriculum addresses and confronts the behaviour that led to the student being designated by the school. Topics addressed encompass: Social Media, Peer Pressure, Engaging in Dialogue, My Strengths, Managing Anger, Confrontation, Relationships, Communication and Body Language, Conflict Behaviour, Dealing with Change and Bullying.
